Ellie helps Vermonters with wills, estate planning, guardianship cases, and other probate matters. She assists clients seeking to navigate the family court system whether it be marital separation and divorce, enforcing a custody order, or assisting youth in juvenile matters. In addition, she works on litigation cases handled by the firm, defending clients’ interests in complex matters involving tort claims relating to personal injury, property damage, and other liability claims.

Ellie completed her legal education through Vermont’s Law Office Study Program, where she “read the law” for four years under the mentorship of experienced attorneys practicing in the areas of personal injury defense, criminal defense, wills and trusts, probate and guardianships, immigration, juvenile law, and family law.  Ellie passed the bar exam in 2024 and became admitted to practice in Vermont in February of 2025.

Ellie is also a Notary Public, a member of the Vermont Bar Association, and an independent scholar in religious studies.

Ellie graduated from high school in Worland, Wyoming, and received her undergraduate degree in English with a minor in Philosophy from Boston University. She then completed her master’s degree at BU in Editorial Studies with a thesis on 16th century English Bibles. Ellie then studied at the University of Oxford and completed a D.Phil. in Historical Theology, afterwards teaching religious studies for thirteen years at Rocky Mountain College (Billings, MT), Rhodes College (Memphis, TN), and Middlebury College (Middlebury, Vermont). She has published scholarly articles and book chapters on the history of Christianity.

Ellie has lived in Vermont since 2010 and in Rutland since 2020. She enjoys spending time with her adult sons and their pets, pursuing language study, and researching Christian history projects. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoys learning about family history.
